Solar Flow Mon/wed/fri 6:30 aM

Rise and shine in this empowering vinyasa class. This class will be a strong flow that will focus the mind and body through postures and movements in a warm room. A short meditation to conclude the practice will leave you ready for the day.

We welcome all levels in this class that is geared toward building strength and sweating. You will have the option to adjust and modify the practice to fit your individual needs.

Hatha

Tues/THurs 9:15 AM & 5:30 pm

A Hatha class brings asana (postures), kriyas (purification or cleansing techniques), pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation (concentration) together. The intention of this class is to gently stimulate, relax and rejuvenate the body, calm the mind and connect to what matters most in life. Poses will be held for longer times giving you space to cultivate a deeper sense of being.

Gentle Yoga

Wednesday 10:45 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM

This class is about as gentle as it can get. A step up from restorative yoga we will blend somatics, restorative yoga, yin yoga, breath work with dynamic stretches to create a flexible body and calm mind.

Gentle Flow

Tues/Thurs 6:30 am & Thursday 5:30 pm

Enjoy the fluidity of movement as you lengthen and strengthen the muscles. We will focus on stretching, lubricating the joints and linking movement to breath within a gentle flowing class. New to yoga? Recovering from an injury? Balancing a vigorous practice with one that is a little more chill? All are welcome here!

Chakra Yoga

Mon   9:15 AM

Begin to unlock the power that lies within you with this gentle yoga class. The chakras or "subtle energies of light" are subtle energy bodies that lie along the spine, affecting the physical, emotional and spiritual well being. Through asana, breath work and meditation you will connect with these energy wheels, heightening awareness and improve health. All levels welcome.

Strong Flow Monday & Wednesday 6:00 PM

This class does not require you to have a strong flow but rather is designed to make your flow practice strong. The fun and intricate transitions and sequences through some challenging poses will grow your practice and strengthen your body. This is an all levels class but will be challenging for beginners at first.

Prana Flow

Tues/thurs 10:30 AM & Sunday 8:30 AM

In this class we move to the rhythm of our breath. Speeding up the breath, holding the breath, slowing the breath down will all correlate with the movement and pace of the practice. This is a form of vinyasa yoga that features near-continuous movement and flowing sequences. The class’ aim is to generate greater life presence, vitality and joy.

Fundamental Flow Saturday 9:30 AM

This 75 minute class will take you through a sequence that will build upon itself. The idea is to teach you a strong foundation of basic poses and challenging ones, teach you ways to get through those tricky transitions you might find in strong flow or solar flow and to teach you how to move breath-to-breath like you do in prana flow. The final 15 minutes of the class will be reserved for workshopping the more difficult poses. This is a great class to submit requests to your teacher! If you found yourself struggling with a pose or transition earlier in the week, let them know!

Lunar Flow Monday 7;30 pm

This is the perfect class to wind down from your day. A practice that seamlessly a combines movements and postures to increase flexibility and range of motion. This Yang to Yin style will help your feel easy in your body and breath as you let go and surrender to relaxation.

There will be about 20 minutes of flowing through moon salutations followed by dynamic stretching and eventually yin, static stretching.

We will flow by twinkle lights, so the space will be relaxing and dark for you to explore your own practice on the mat.

We welcome all levels. This is a great class for beginners to attend.

Sushumna Yoga Wed 9:15, Fri 9:15

You are only as healthy as your spine is stable. The spine is the first structure that is formed in the womb and from there every other part of the body takes root. The spine is our central energy line or our sushumna where everything crosses and intersects.

In this class, which takes place mainly on the floor, you will strengthen your core, spine, pelvic floor and hips. This strength will aid in bettering your posture and balance. We will gain this strength through gentle movements borrowed from many practices and therapies, pranayama (breathing techniques) Meditations, kryas (cleanses) and yoga postures. This class is for all levels and all ages. It is particularly wonderful for the beginner and the aging body.

Melt Fascia REleasing Monday 1 PM

This 60 minute class will guide you through a series of positions and movements to “release your fascia.” Using a foam roller and various balls. Your fascia is connective tissue that is found all over the body. When the fascia is tight then the muscle and joints will not have full range of motion. This works a lot like a self massage and with the use of yogic breathwork it is very relaxing. It feels incredible when you are finished, it feels as though you have “melted” your muscles. This is a highly restorative practice for anyone suffering stiff or sore muscles and joints.

Yin + Yoga NIdra Friday 5:45 pm

Yin is a practice of acceptance and surrender. During this generous 75 minutes class you will be holding passive stretch poses for extended periods of time. Yin Specifically supports the deeper layers of the body such as fascia, connective tissue as well as bones and joints. The last third of the class will be spent being led through a deeply relaxing and nurturing Yoga Nidra or yoga sleep. Practicing Yin grows us in our self-awareness, creates space in the body and mind and supports the nervous system.

REstorative Yoga

Tuesdays 7 pm

This deeply relaxing class is unlike all the rest. Come to enjoy and unwind being present in your body and mind while holding still in chosen restorative postures. Each pose will be propped so that you can be supremely comfortable and simply rest while your body passively stretches.

Shine’s Yoga Teacher Training January 2025

What the Yoga Teacher Training Requires:

  • A person wanting to know more, experience more and grow as a person

  • 300 hours over the span of 12 months

  • Meeting once a month: Friday 7pm-9 pm, Saturday 8 am-5 pm, Sunday 10 am-6 pm (We will pick the weekends as a group and work around everyone’s schedules. The times are not negotiable unless you reach out to me specifically.

  • Cost is $3500 and we require a $500 upfront, after that you can pay a $250 payment each time we meet

  • Weekly time in your schedule to take class, observe class, assist in classes, read, write and study. (This is often the hardest part of the training; time management. We are pretty chill, as we know life happens even when we have a great plan. I always suggest taking three classes a week and plan on spending 1-2 hours of homework a week.)

  • You will receive a list of books you need to purchase to complete the homework all can be found on Amazon and other online sources. All Shine books will be provided and included in the training price.

What the Yoga Teacher Training Course INcludes:

  • A great deal of one-on-one time with Jesselle. We only allow six people to join our trainings to keep it intimate.

  • Unlimited yoga membership

  • Hands on teaching as early as module one

  • Homework assignments for you to do throughout the month

  • 20 hours of History and Philosophy of Yoga

  • 25+ hours of Subtle Body Training and how to apply it to your life and classes

  • 2 hours of Sanskrit (Language of yoga) Training with Luana Knowlton

  • 60 hours of Anatomy and Physiology during class time

  • Over 70 poses broken down in alignment, accessibility, hands on adjustments, and modifications

  • 50 Hours of Yoga Sequencing and Training: +10 hours of advanced sequencing training for specialty classes

  • 60+ hours of practice teaching

  • 25 hours of restorative and yin training

  • 25 hours of learning how to make yoga accessible for all bodies, including prenatal, kids, seniors, injured, bigger bodied and anyone who feels excluded from the yoga world.

  • 6 + hours of the business and ethics of yoga (cultural appropriation is included)

  • 4 hours Introduction to Ayurvedic lifestyle

  • Shine Teacher Training manual written by Jesselle Pena, Shine Pose library written by Jesselle Pena, and Shine Sequencing workbook written by Jesselle Pena

There is much more that is included but not quantified with a number. This training is to teach you how to teach, how to find your own voice as a teacher and how you can give back to the yoga community in your own specific way. This is longer than most trainings (by an extra 100 hours) and it requires a lot from you during the month between meeting. I will be there for you ever step of the way teaching you, encouraging you, motivating you and helping whenever you ask.

If you are interested in joining us, please reach out to Jesselle as sooN!
